The produce a wide range of medical equipment and furniture, including innovative technology-led smart bed solutions.

Brief: 

To provide the client with a nurse-call system button, ergonically deisgned to to the human hand.

Robust enough for frequent use, simple to activate and operate for those with limited motor skills and with a high protection rating for recurrent cleaning.

The Solution:

• CIE Electronics designed an ABS moulded switch with rubberised button, utilising low-memory cable to avoid tangling.
• The button and cable relief are colour-matched to the customer's specification.
• Cable is open-ended for termination to the hospital's intercom system.
• Finished product has a protection rating of IP65.
• CIE designed the tooling for the moulding and manufactured 25,000+ units for supply on a call-off basis from our central-UK warehouse.
